Textured, woodburned, coloured.

Each Square 8.5cm x 8.5cm x 1.8cm

Colours: A mix of spirit stains and acrylic paints.

This wall hanging started off as a practice piece. I was playing around with texturing and colouring on offcut squares that were lying on my bench.

When I had 3 squares done I realised that I might be able to make something of them all together.

It is the first of what was to become a series of pieces I have made that either consist of 9 squares or I created by starting with 9 squares.

I call this series ‘Turning Squares’.

It is mounted through a centre hole on a circular MDF disc which allows it to be rotated into any position, as the viewer prefers.
