Description
I saw the glass piece on a cruise ship on the river Danube in May this year and was intrigued by its form. It’s maker was not acknowleged.
This is my copy, made in cherry. I get a lot of inspiration from both glasswork and ceramics.
Cutting out the square opening made for an interesting challenge as did hollowing it when the opening was not round. I cut the opening before I did any turning using hand tools.
I textured it and then finished it with acrylic sanding sealer and acrylic satin lacquer.
