Description
This was a demonstration piece I made for a group of people who had never seen woodturning before.
Two of my turning club members also demonstrated at this event.
It was amazing to see their reaction.
I split a log of cherry along it’s grain and made this flat topped bowl from one half of the log.
The second photo here shows the natural edge bowl I made from the other half of the log. It is 21cm x 14.3cm x 4.8cm.
Finish on both: Woodoc low gloss.
I finished the bowl on each with superfine grit and microcrystalline wax thus giving the bowl a higher sheen.
