Description

I visited the British museum in London in October 2025 with my buddy Liam (We were in London to attend the WIZADRY IN WOOD, 2025 exhibition https://turnersco.com/wiw/ ). I spotted a Mycenaean multiple vase in one of the exhibition cabinets. On seeing it I turned to Liam and said “I’m going to turn one of these”.
This is my interpretation of ths beautiful, ancient piece of pottery.
I made my piece from an offcut of a recycled oak bollard. It is endgrain turned and each vase is hollowed out.
I coated each vase with black epoxy resin to waterproof them as I intend each vase to be planted.
I textured and burned the surfaces of the vase and I turned a ring from recycled mahogany to encircle the piece.
Finish: Organoil.
